the apology

Upon Sean's arrival home...
Cael: Dad, I am sorry I touched your computer.
Sean: Oh, Cael that is okay. (what a sweet boy)
Cael: Dad, I am sorry I banged on it.
Sean: Oh... um...
Cael: And Dad I am sorry I scratched it.
Sean: WHAT?

sunshine, lollipops &... oh no!

{Beautiful}
The sunshine this morning has been beautiful!  There is a cool breeze blowing and the sun coming up is so refreshing! This morning I had to open all the doors and windows to let in the fresh air and sunlight.  The boys and I are thoroughly enjoying the morning!  We went outside and inspected spiders and smelled the roses.
PAUSE...

Sorry about that.  Where was I?  Oh, right I was about to say I can hear the birds singing while I write... but then they were drowned out by a baby crying.  Let me just recount my last 30 minutes for you
{CRAZY}
Finn crying- I pick him up to eat, but before we get settled...
Remington starts crying from his room- before I feed Finn I check on Remy...
He & his sheets are COVERD in POOP...
Ask Cael to hold Finn- I go clean up Remington and get him fed, while feeding I...
Read to the big boys "Love You Forever" and proceed to cry through the entire book (REALLY?!)...
Finally I feed Finn- Kipp decides to run out the front door...
I chase after him- poor Finn is still trying to eat, but of course that has to be put on hold to corral Kipp and get him back in the house...
Begin feeding Finn, again- Kipp is thirsty he stands on his tip toes and gets himself a drink from the frig, walks over to the rest of us and promptly (accidentally) dumps the cup of water on the couch...
Jumping up I run for towels(still nursing)- I guess the cushions will be enjoying the sunshine as well today...
Finn finally gets to finish eating- I read another book to the boys
Now here I sit with a baby on my lap and he is filling his pants with poo- ahhh, the JOYS!

Well, the moment of the beautiful morning has passed, but it was nice while it lasted.  I am off to change a baby and shut the doors and windows before the heat creeps in the house.
Oh, and I am COVERED in poo...NICE!

I hope YOUR day is going WELL!
This was a TRUE, live STORY and yes very typical of our days.  Even though life is nuts around here it is still wonderful.  A clean silent house without children would be just plain sad.

Pictures from our beautiful, CRAZY morning!  They are just randomness, but I had fun capturing our morning... well the beautiful part that is... I felt no need to capture the CRAZY part!
can you see the spider?

settling

The babies have settled into their own finally.  Life got easier at 3 months for us and started to settle in around 4 months, but then Miss Lauren left us and daddy came home from deployment so we were all jumbled again and now we are resettling.
For the most part they are very content through the day, this is NEW and so WONDERFUL!  Before my sweet boys were a "bit" fussy, always wanting someone to hold them.  I feel like life is FINALLY getting back to "normal."  It has at the least calmed.  The babies are enjoying playing with their hands, play toys and rolling everywhere.  Big brothers LOVE to entertain them.  It really is the sweetest thing to see the big boys calming a crying babe.

Can you say it like a tongue twister?

Brother

By Mary Ann Hoberman
I had a little brother
And I brought him to my mother
And I said I want another
Little brother for a change.
But she said don’t be a bother
So I took him to my father
And I said this little bother
Of a brother’s very strange.
But he said one little brother
Is exactly like another
And every little brother
Misbehaves a bit he said.
So I took the little bother
From my mother and my father
And I put the little bother
Of a brother back to bed.

I think this will be our next poem we memorize...

Me & My Bother, Kody, on his wedding day

I know I sure love my bother brothers!

sweet bottoms

Okay, so I know this is going to be a bit disturbing to you, because frankly it is disturbing to me.  I have recently noticed, while checking to see if the twins have dirty diapers, that their tushes smell SWEET... like COTTON CANDY!  REALLY!  I told you this would be disturbing!  I have not yet had the chance to research it online.  Maybe it is a sign that something is wrong?  I really have no idea what is going on.  All I know is that when I smell cotton candy tush I need to go change a dirty diaper!  Have you ever heard of such a thing?  Randomness, I know.

sickies

Why is it every time I make a new resolution, or renew my original resolution, someone gets sick and I spend the entire day cleaning up vomit and doing laundry?  It really is impossible to do anything other than take care of little ones when tummies are sick.  Cael and Kipp both have the stomach flu and Remington has a fever.  So far Finnian has escaped the sickies, but we will see how long he can hold out.  My poor boys!

Happy FIVE months babies!

The twins are five months today.   They are such a gift from God.  How unexpected they were!  I have never been so surprised and overwhelmed before and yes TERRIFIED! Now that they are here and laughing, life is sweet.  I can't imagine life without them.  Thank you Lord for your precious unexpected gift.

More to come on our journey with twins.

Boy Poetry

As part of our start to homeschooling we have been working on memorizing Bible verses and poetry.  It has been fun watching the boys as they excitedly recite their memory work.  Here is their very first poem.  It is such a fun one and so perfect for my bug squishing boys!

Ooey Gooey
Author Unknown
Ooey Gooey was a worm.
A might worm was he.
He stepped upon the railroad tracks,
The train he did not see!
Ooooey Goooey!

Tomatoes

Our boys working in their "garden."  They each have the responsibility of a tomato plant.  If all goes well this summer we will have yummy tomatoes to enjoy!  Hopefully, next summer we can have a "real" garden.  This year our out door project is to landscape the back yard.  More to come on that topic in the next few weeks.
WAIT!  Kippy that's the wrong kind of water!

June! REALLY?

crazy weather in June

enjoying the rain...
and the bug in the bucket
the boys cookin' something up... where is that bug?
How can this be June 1st?  It is cold.  It is rainy.  It is dark.  It is thundering!  In my almost 5 years here in California this is only the second time I have heard it thundering.  I just cannot believe this weather.  So fun!  I must say I am ready for it to warm up, though.
